PHYSICS DAYS 2018 - Seeing the invisible


Physics Days 2018 - Fysiikan päivät 2018, the 52nd annual meeting of the Finnish Physical Society, will be held at LOGOMO in Turku, March 21-23, 2018. The event is jointly organized by the Finnish Physical Society and University of Turku.

The Physics Days 2018 theme is Seeing the invisible.


Registration is now closed. It is possible to still register on-site. The fees are shown below. Only credit card payments will be accepted on-site.

Please note that the costs for travel, accommodation and insurances are not included in the fees. Both the city reception dinner has the maximum number of 200 and conference dinner the maximum number of 180 of participants, and these quotas will be filled in the order of registration.

Confirmation of participation

Aboa Congress and Event Services will confirm the participation upon receiving the registration and payments. No participation confirmation letters will be sent before all the payments (including hotel deposit and conference dinner) have been received.

Cancellation and refund policy

Kindly note that all cancellations and/or changes to registration and accommodation must be made in writing to Aboa Congress and Event Services by e-mail: info (at)

If a cancellation for the participation and/or hotel reservation is received by 15 February, 2018, the event fee (no hotel fee) will be refunded with the exception of a handling fee of 100 EUR. No refunds of the conference fee, conference dinner or hotel deposit can be made for cancellations or changes received after 15 February, 2018.

Registration can also be transferred to someone else from the same organisation. An administration fee of 100 EUR will be charged for the change.

In a case of no-show, there will be no refund of the conference fee conference dinner payment or the hotel deposit.

Cancellation of the Conference

In the event that the conference cannot be held or is postponed due to events beyond the control of the conference organisers (force majeure) or due to events which are not attributable to wrongful intent or gross negligence of the conference organisers, the conference organisers cannot be held liable by attendees for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation costs, accommodation costs, costs for additional orders, or financial losses.

Under these circumstances, the conference organisers reserve the right to either retain the entire registration fee and to use it for a future conference, or to reimburse the attendee after deducting costs already incurred for the organisation of the conference and which could not be recovered from third parties.

A quota of rooms has been reserved for the Physics days 2018 participants in city centre hotels (more info). The reservations will be made on “first come, first served” basis. The hotel quotas are valid until two months before the congress. After that we cannot guarantee the availability of the hotel rooms, but will assist you in finding accommodation. The hotel fees include breakfast, service and VAT. Please note that all hotel fees are payable directly to the hotels.

Please mark your hotel reservation on the conference registration form. Your reservation will be confirmed together with your participation. Kindly inform the conference organizers of any changes in your accommodation reservation (info (at)

Room reservation and cancellation conditions

Room reservation conditions
Reserved room will be held until 6 pm on the day of arrival. The hotel is entitled to give the room to another guest after 6 pm. If you plan to arrive after 6 p.m., kindly send your credit card information through our Secured mail system (instructions) to Aboa Congress and Event Services to ensure that the room will be held until your arrival. You can fill in the information on the credit card authorisation form and attach it to the secured email. Note that the hotel will charge your card only in case of late cancellation or no-show.

Room cancellation
A reserved room may be cancelled free of charge 2 weeks before the arrival (later only due to medical reasons and a medical certificate must be presented). The hotel has the right to charge the guest for cancellations made later than 2 weeks before the arrival date or no-shows.


During the conference a traditional vendor exhibition will be held next to the registration desk, lecture hall and the coffee service on the first floor. See more information.
